GOOD GOVERNMENT OVER SPECIAL INTERESTS
By Harriet Varnum Irby - March 9, 2009
I'm Harriet Irby. I've lived in Pantego for 38 years.
It is important that we protect our property values while keeping our tax rate low.
Getting the most value for our tax dollars is essential to keeping our community a pleasant, safe place to live and to raise our families.
Rapid, effective fire and police response must remain a priority in Pantego.
We must fight together for a good, adequate, affordable municipal water supply.
Our parks and community events help make Pantego a pleasant place where residents can afford to live and to retire. Volunteering for events helps us to get to know our neighbors and "do our part" while having fun.
NO EMINENT DOMAIN FOR PRIVATE GAIN.
I support at Tax Payers Bill of Rights for all Texas Citizens. From the local, to state to national level, citizens should not be double taxed for transportation or public infrastructure. This is crucial for each family's personal and economic survival.
